The following explains how to install InstaLOD Studio for Windows, macOS and Linux.
Run the InstaLOD installer and complete all steps. It will guide you through the installation.

Simply unzip the file and drag and drop the InstaLOD Studio application into your Applications directory.

InstaLOD Studio for Linux is distributed as a portable application and does not require installation, root privileges or a package manager. Supported distributions are Rocky Linux, Red Hat Enterprise Linux and AlmaLinux 8 and 9.
Extract the downloaded tar archive to the target location, for example the home directory or /opt. Replace <downloaded file> with the path of the downloaded file:
tar -xf "<downloaded file>"
The archive extracts to a folder named InstaLODStudio-<version> (for example, InstaLODStudio-7.2) that contains the application and its bundled libraries. To start InstaLOD Studio, execute run.sh from this folder:
cd InstaLODStudio-<version>
./run.sh
run.sh can also be executed from any other working directory by using its full path.
The optional register-uri-scheme.sh script adds InstaLOD Studio to the application menu, registers it as the URI scheme handler for InstaLOD links such as the Polyverse integration, and creates an instalod-studio command. Execute the script from the extracted folder:
./register-uri-scheme.sh
When executed as a regular user, the script registers InstaLOD Studio for that user only and creates the command in ~/.local/bin. When executed with sudo, the application menu entry is created for all users and the command is created in /usr/local/bin.
The registration references the absolute path of the folder. After moving or renaming the folder, execute
register-uri-scheme.shagain from the new location.

InstaLOD Studio can be installed and activated on the same workstation alongside all of InstaLOD's integrations (e.g. InstaLOD for Maya)
If you want to uninstall InstaLOD Studio, you can do so as follows.

If the script was executed with sudo, the application menu entry and the command are located in system directories:
sudo rm -f /usr/share/applications/InstaLODStudio.desktop /usr/local/bin/instalod-studio
User configuration and logs under
~/.config/InstaLODand~/.cache/InstaLODare not removed automatically.
