Transfer textures make it possible to use original textures on models even after the UVs have been changed on a model.
When baking transfer textures, the U and V coordinates of the original UVs are baked into a texture. Each value on the transfer texture specifies a position on the original UV map.

In the material editor of a DCC software of choice, set the RG outputs of the transfer map
and plug them into the UV coordinates of the original texture
to remap the UVs.
