Baking cages can be utilized to modify the direction that baking rays are cast to fix e.g. texture skewing. InstaLOD supports the use of custom texture cages for quick and easy setup of bakes.
InstaLOD Studio targets cage meshes by name to avoid baking the wrong source geometry. When importing scenes, meshes are automatically matched by name and listed in the Bake Outliner
. Additionally, separate viewport tabs are created to quickly switch the view between the source, target, and cage meshes.

The Cage Mesh
Settings can be set up in the Bake Settings
. The Cage Mesh Suffix ('_cage' by default) matches the cage mesh to the bake meshes to ensure correct baking behavior.
Use Cage Mesh Normals
can be disabled. This allows the normals from the low poly mesh to be baked while using the baking rays cast from the cage. This allows for extreme flexibility while baking.
